Have you ever heard of autophagy? If not, don't feel bad. It isn't a regular in most people's vocabulary. But it's a word you need to know, because scientists now believe enhancing autophagy can prevent Alzheimer's. And they've found a way to do so that's both easy to do and very tasty.
Fortunately, the researchers in a recent study found a simple way to keep this process working as it should. All you have to do is eat a regular diet of berries.
In their study, the researchers fed berries to rats for two months and exposed them to radiation. The radiation accelerates the aging process and discourages the autophagy process. After exposure, the researchers divided the rats into two groups. One group they evaluated after 36 hours. The second group they evaluated after 30 days. They were looking for changes in their brain neurochemical processes (i.e., autophagy).
The researchers found that the berries protected the rats from any degeneration in autophagy, even after 30 days. That means the berries promote autophagy, slow the aging process, and prevent the beta amyloid proteins from causing damage that leads to Alzheimer's.
While you probably already know how great berries, including blueberries and strawberries (the berries used in this study), are for your health, this shows a powerful protective effect against Alzheimer's. What's more, the protective effect probably extends to Parkinson's. I reported on how effective berries are at preventing Parkinson's last year.
So make sure you're getting plenty of berries in your diet every day. By eating berries, you enhance the autophagy process and essentially turn your body into an anti-Alzheimer's machine. Your body needs the phytochemicals they provide to run this machine at peak efficiency and for great health. If you can't get enough berries every day, there's an easy way to make sure you do. It's with Advanced Greens Formula, which is packed with these phytochemicals from berries and other health foods.

Turn your body into an anti-Alzheimer's machine
